We get to read all kinds of literature in my AP English III class, but we are currently working on Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut Jr. It's a neat, well written book about truth and illusion. On the surface it's a humorous poke at society and religion, but it goes deeper. Of course i'm not sure exactly how it goes deeper since I haven't finished reading it yet... :)
It's about a made up religion and the main chatracter's interactions with the guy who invented the atom bomb, the guy's kids, some Hoosiers, native island people, and some really weird ice.
It is a good book though, so if anyone is looking for some reading material, I would suggest Cat's Cradle.
